This is the beginning of what will become a broad and extensive range of 4mm finescale Flat Bottom Rail track and turnouts for the modeler looking for simpler solutions with much more realism and much greater value!

We have also just introduced a complete range of precision milled, solid Nickel Silver, FB Rail Common Crossing kits, along with throw bars, and of course a wide range of FB Rail sizes.

So, with all these new parts ready, we will shortly also introduce complete turnout building kits and some helpful inexpensive tools to assist in their construction. As with our World Renown HO kits, these will be quick and easy to build using mostly just some modern instant adhesives such as ACC, without needing any awkward and skillful, miniature construction soldering.

Precision Milled, Stainless Steel Spikes
HO Near Scale ( N and Z usable)

These exceptionally accurate and realistic spikes are precision milled from "half-hard" stainless steel sheet to a far more accurate and realistic shape than traditional, way over scale, bent wire spikes. These are supplied in two frets; 250 all tie depth only length for making removable track and 175, pass through, longer than tie depth length, for fixed down track. We also have a special non magnetic solid nickel silver version, that can be scattered along the track for cosmetic effect. All types come in 1 fret and 6-fret pack quantities. And a special mixed type sample pack is available for first time users.

HO EASY RAIL END ALIGNERS
Our own new technology alternative and optionally near scale appearance "rail joiners". They have the major advantage that no removal or cutting away of the ties underneath is required. And they will join rails of different sizes.

Thin Flat Stainless Steel rail end aligners of the correct scale length for HO, that slide onto the rail web and sit flat on the rail base. There is generally space in the larger rail sizes (70/83) to fit cosmetic scale joint bars above for maximum realism. Providing the rail ends are well matched and not under significant tension, these much less obtrusive "joiners" will hold the two rail heads in near perfect alignment for smooth reliable running, of regular and even Proto Wheelsets. They can be also be mounted on rail ends spaced slightly apart (~0.020) to allow for expansion rail end movement.

For best closed rail joint appearance, we suggest removing about 1/32" of the rail end base and web from each rail end, with a file or dremel cutting disk, before installation, to accommodate the center cross bar.

Alteratively just grind the rail ends back at 45 degrees for a quicker, easier process and a slightly open joint

Ultimate HO Throw Bar/Point Hinge Combo
ULTIMATE THROW BAR SETS include prototypically accurate working double throw bars and prototypically accurate working Loose Heel Point Hinges. The sets are specially engineering designed to work reliably and almost indefinitely, without needing stressed soldered joints, added pivot bearings, or maintenance/adjustements.

ULTIMATE THROW BAR SETS are now be offered in either of two material types - Stainless Steel non-solderable or Nickel Silver solderable

The second throw bar of the stainless steel, non-soldered version, requires a drilled hole in the point rail base. So these bars are only suitable for use with point rails that have or can can accommodate such a hole, or are sprung (flexible) instead of hinged. (cast points are generally not suitable). It is with supplied with pre-drilled plastic throw bar bases.

The Nickel Silver, solderable/customizable version comes with two undrilled copper laminate base bars, a one time drilling jig to accurately position the rod mounting holes and may be customized to be used without drilled holes in the points and for any type of point rail that can be soldered.

Note that successful use with HO or N code 40 rail requires suitable proto or shallow flange wheelsets.

These 150% scale spikes are precision milled from "half-hard" stainless steel sheet to a far more accurate and realistic shape and head than traditional bent wire spikes. Although still smaller than even "micro" traditional size HO spikes, these are found by many to be easier to handle and use than our near scale spikes. Also they are ideal for "S" scale and many On3,On30 and O scale applications.
