#8 DOUBLE SLIP/SINGLE SLIP/STRAIGHT CROSSING OPTION FOR "SWITCH-WORKS PRO"
JUST ONE INEXPENSIVE, BUT VERY POWERFUL, OPTION MAKES ALL THREE TYPES
BASED ON PROTOTYPE DRAWINGS WITH ASTOUNDING ACCURACY AND DETAIL TO GIVE YOU BREATHTAKING HO TRACK REALISM
BUT WITHOUT NEEDING CRAFTSMANSHIP SKILLS, OR CONSTRUCTION SOLDERING, OR THE PURCHASE OF INNUMERABLE SPECIALIZED RAIL FILING TOOLS.
The Slip Tie framer includes two optional side inserts that will convert the double slip tie base frame to either a single slip or a straight crossing accurate tie layout.
Just one simple tie plate jig lays the tie plate set for all slip variations (double, single or plain crossing) on one end, then flips over to lay the other half.
We have introduced new frets of bulk "angled" tie plates especially for the angled ties of crossings and the ends of slips
To work in conjunction with the "angled" tie plates, we have also designed frets of the set of "special" tie plates needed for a plain crossing (LH side of the picture above) and "add-on" sets to provide the many extra and very complex sets of special plates for both single and double slips
You can see from the "blown-up" Prototype Drawing above, just how many different special plates are used in a typical real full-size double slip.
We'll add more information and ordering details, as soon as we have thoroughly tested the new prototype parts. Watch this page and the news page for updates coming soon!
PRELIMINARY ASSEMBLY POSITIONING DATA FOR BETA TESTERS
TIE NUMBERING MAP FOR TIE PLATE JIG
Note the the tie plate jig covers BOTH #1 tie slots to ensure symmetrical assembly when reversed
THE NUMBERING MAP FOR THE PLAIN CROSSING TIE PLATE SET
This plain crossing and foundation tie plate set is used to provide the frog and guard rail plates for ALL the slip crossing configurations. In addition the double set of plates 1-thru-7 are used for the crossing only and a single set of plates 1-thru-7 are used for the crossing route of a single slip.
THE NUMBERING MAP FOR THE ADD-ON SLIPS TIE PLATE SET
This slip tie plate set is used to provide the the special slip plates for the double slip configuration, plus the same map number substitute shorter plates to be used when building a single slip.
NOTE- All gauge plates (1,2,6,7,11 and 17) should be checked to be properly trimmed to prevent electrical shorts.
